J Lee graduated from high school in Littlefield, TX. He earned a BBA from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX (where he met future wife Theresa) and an MBA from Tulsa University in Tulsa, OK (where son Bryan and daughter Joanna came into the picture). He spent over three years in the US Army during WWII serving in England, France, Belgium, Germany and Austria. After returning stateside and earning his BBA he joined the United States Air Force where he spent the next 27 years. During that time he and his wife Theresa lived in Florida, New Mexico, French Morocco, South Dakota, California, Washington DC, Spain, Alabama, Oklahoma, Japan and Massachusetts. After retiring in 1972, J Lee, Theresa, Bryan and Joanna moved to Lubbock, TX and then on to Austin, TX in 1973. J Lee then worked in the construction business until 1987 when he retired for good and began enjoying his hobby of furniture building. He and Theresa traveled the country in their van and have enjoyed their friends and family ever since.

He is survived by his wife Theresa Robbins of Austin, TX, his son Bryan Lee Robbins of Austin,TX, Bryan’s wife Shelley Lyn Robbins of Austin,TX and nephew John Patrick Robbins of Littlefield, TX. He also leaves behind his four grandchildren……Michael Wall of Rockdale, TX, Megan Wetzel of Austin, TX, Addison Robbins of Austin, TX and Madison Robbins of Austin, TX……..as well as many friends and extended family members. Daughter in law Shelley Robbins has been a great help to both J Lee and Theresa. She has cooked many meals, delivered many fresh flowers, run many errands and has generally been willing and glad to help with any and all that comes up (often with the help of daughters Addison and Madison). Nephew Pat Robbins (who spent much of his early life with J Lee and Theresa) has been and continues to be an invaluable and tireless presence in the J Lee Robbins household and a treasured member of the family. Neighbor Don Thorp is without compare and his company has been enjoyed by all of the Robbins family for many years. There are countless more friends and family that have enriched the life of J Lee Robbins and family and for that we are forever grateful.
