Jake was born just before dawn on November 4, 1985 in Austin, Texas and lived his entire life on the shores of Lake Travis in Spicewood. When he attended Faith Academy High School in Marble Falls, he played football and baseball. His receiving records there may never be broken. Jake loved nature and outdoor sports where he excelled in archery, shooting sports, paintball, hunting, and watersports on the lake. His real passion was flying. He learned at the age of 14 at Spicewood Airport, flying a taildragger and earning his pilots license at age 16. He was currently attending Central Texas College in Killeen working on a degree in Aeronautics and Aviation Science with hopes of becoming an airline pilot. Jakes dreams and life ended at 4:25 a.m. on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 from a brain tumor that was discovered only thirty-four hours before his death. This fine young man was truly a son of God with a heart and soul that touched everyone he met. Even though he lived only 22 years, his is was a life lived to the fullest. Jake is survived by his parents, Scott and Jan Costa of Spicewood, Texas; grandparents, Jack and Betty Costa of Round Rock and Joy Bingham of Houston, and many family members and friends. Jake will be forever loved and missed but never forgotten by so many people who knew him. Jake would never want a funeral for himself. A celebration of his life with family and friends will be held in the weeks to come, where his ashes will be flown over Lake Travis and cast to the wind. Jake Lee Costa will forever be in these beautiful hills of Texas which he loved so much. A Celebration of Jake's Life will be held on January 19, 2008 at the Spicewood Airport beginning at 12:00 noon. "Fly forever high in a clear blue sky our son, and touch the face of God" we love you always, Mom and Dad.
