James Franklin Berry of Bastrop, Texas, died on July 4, 2006 at the age of 84. He was born on October 7, 1922, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Roy and Stella Berry. James served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. He was a veteran of WW II receiving numerous medals and commendations, including, the Silver Star, the Purple Heart, and two Bronze Stars. James was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Stella Berry and by brothers, Dick and Harold Berry. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Berry; sons, James E. Berry and Daniel Berry and his wife, Yolanda; granddaughter, Victoria Berry; sister, Geraldine Eckart and husband Jim; and by many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
