

James Thomas Padden, Jim Padden, passed away suddenly in a car accident on November 30th 2014. Jim was 71 and born in Fall River, MA on February 28th, 1943. His wife, Mary Padden, also passed away from her accident injuries on January 24th, 2015. Jim, a forty year plus Austin TX area resident, and Mary made their retirement home in Round Rock, TX.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James Charles Padden and Ethel Mary Kennedy. Jim, the oldest of six children, leaves behind five siblings, his first wife Judy Moore, three children and two stepchildren; his daughter, Carrie Jauregui, her husband Carlos and grandson Sean; his son, Timothy Padden, wife Danor and grandsons Orion and Nobel; his daughter Jill Urban, husband Andrew and granddaughters Anne and Rebekah; his stepdaughter Kecia Jacobs, husband Bob and two stepgrandsons Collin and Lane; his stepdaughter Kelly Brietzke, husband Ron, step-grandson Quinton and step-granddaughter Chloe.
Jim was a loving father and husband, loved the ocean, music, swing dancing, gardening and was an avid guitar player.
He was an accomplished engineer throughout a forty year career in the technology industry working on projects from the first semiconductors built in Austin to the backbone of the modern cellular networks.
Jim's sense of humor and loving heart will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A memorial for Jim and his wife Mary will be held Saturday January 31st at Covenant Presbyterian Church 3003 Northland Drive, Austin Texas 78757 from 1:30 - 2:30 with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his name to the Austin Musicians charity, Black Fret (www.blackfret.org/jim).
