Jake was born on October 2, 1932 to Arthur and Nora Woodman in Lufkin, TX.
Jake attended the University of Houston and graduated in 1955. While attending the college he met the love of his life Beverly, they were married on January 24, 1956 and from their love came three beloved daughters, Susan, Cindy & Wendy. Jake served his country and worked at Fort Benning after graduating college. In 1963 Jake took a job in Austin, TX with the Texas Education Agency as the director of the Division of Employment and Training. Throughout his life Jake enjoyed living in the country their many pets, country music, dancing, travelling and most of all his family.
Jake was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Nora; his wife, Beverly; his daughter, Wendy; his sister, Mary and his brother, Wesley.
Jake is survived by his daughters, Susan Zoch, of Giddings, Texas; Cindy Vrabel, husband David, of Cedar Park, Texas; his grandchildren, Ashlie Myers, Abby Morrison, Jake Vrabel, Chad Riney, Chris Riney, Lexi Vrabel; his great-grandchildren, Luke Myers, Layla Myers, Jaxon Bernstein, Jacob Morrison, Kaydence Morrison as well as many other beloved friends and family members that will forever cherish his memory.
Services will be held at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 9am and funeral services will commence at 10am on Friday, February 5, 2021.
