

James Harold Yount passed away peacefully at his home on November 4, 2025. Born in Austin, Texas, to Melvin and Mildred Yount, James lived a life grounded in curiosity, craftsmanship, and a deep love for his family.
James spent his career working as both a commercial and residential electrician, known for his steady hands, strong work ethic, and dedication to his craft.
He found joy in many passions—stargazing on quiet evenings, bird watching, making bird feeders, practicing archery and shooting sports, fishing at his favorite spots, tending to his garden, and playing guitar with his grandson. Above all, his greatest happiness came from time spent with his family, celebrating every occasion with warmth, humor, and gratitude.
James is survived by his loving wife, Ellen Yount; his daughter, Natalie Baker, and her husband, Bryan Baker; and his beloved grandsons, Bryan Baker II and Nicholas Baker. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Michelle Pinion, Chris Guerrero, and Randy Guerrero; and his sisters, Charlene Mrazek, Carrie Mills, and Linda Glass.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Mildred Yount; Pat Mitchell; Melba Lewis; and Donald Mills.
James leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, hard work, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. He will be deeply missed.
A visitation will be held at Fuller Sheffield Funeral Services, located at 2808 E. MLK Jr. Blvd., Austin, TX 78702, on November 15, 2025, at 3:00 pm.
Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same venue from at 4:00 pm.
