

Jane Marie Hornsby Gilliam (88) of Round Rock, TX passed away on March 13, 2024. She was born in Houston, Texas on July 19, 1935, to Malcolm and Jean Hornsby. She graduated from Austin High School and attended college to become a secretary. She worked as a secretary for the Department of Public Safety prior to her marriage to Kenneth Gilliam. After her girls were older, she was a secretary at Highland Park Baptist Church for 20 years.
Jane was preceded in death by her father, Malcolm Morris Hornsby, mother, Jean Milam Hornsby and her husband of 58 years, Kenneth. She is survived by daughters, Lisa Gilliam and Amy Rodriguez, son-in-law, Gabriel Rodriguez and granddaughter, Analisa Marie Rodriguez.
Kenneth and Jane met at University Christian Church in Austin. She later served as a deacon at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She is currently a member at Hyde Park Baptist Church.
Following retirement, she and Kenneth enjoyed family time at New Song Ranch in Llano County where they rebuilt the house and spent many happy years together in the Texas hill country.
Jane is a member of the Reuben Hornsby Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.
Visitation will be at Cook-Walden Funeral Home at 6100 N. Lamar Blvd in Austin on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 1:00 pm with funeral service following at 2:00 pm. Burial will be at Hornsby Bend Cemetery immediately following the service.
