A proud native Austinite, Janette was born on July 18, 1964 to Amelia Garza Estrada and the late Joe A. Estrada, Jr. Janette is survived by her only child, Andrea Rangel; grandsons Gabriel and Jariyah; mother, Amelia Estrada; sisters Ann Wirth, Rosie Overby, and JoAnn Estrada; nieces Sasha Wirth-Jones, Emily Luneau, and Ann-Marie Hilbert; beloved cousins; and many special friends and former colleagues.
After graduating with LBJ High School’s Class of 1982, Janette took pride in her work as an executive assistant, spending 12 years at The University of Texas at Austin and another 10 years at Austin Community College. She also worked as a project coordinator for Seton Healthcare Network, Centene/Superior Health Plan in Austin, and as an administrative assistant for James Avery Craftsman, Inc. in Kerrville, Texas.
Janette’s cheerful personality and genuine warmth made her a magnet. Organizing and hosting gatherings was Janette’s specialty, and cooking for family and friends was her love language. Smiles and laughter were always on the menu. Janette loved the water, Bruce Springsteen, all types of music, and HEB’s playlist. As she strolled through the aisles with her cart, she could never resist the urge to move to the beat of her favorite songs while shopping for her favorite ingredients. Her heartfelt prayers served as a testament to her unwavering faith in God, whether in times of gratitude or moments of hardship. Rest in heaven, dear Janette. You’ll be forever missed for your playful, sparkling spirit, huge open heart, and boundless love for your family and friends.
