

Janice Terlene (Terri) Morrow Ocean, 77, of Austin, passed away on February 24, 2016. She was born in DeWitt County, Texas, on November 23, 1938. She graduated from Cuero High School, in Cuero, Texas, and graduated from Jefferson Davis Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career took her to Abilene, Texas; Anaheim and Garden Grove, California; Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Austin, Texas. She specialized in pediatric, adolescent psychiatric and home health nursing, ending her 50-year nursing career at Meridell Achievement Center in Liberty Hill.
Terri Ocean enjoyed shopping at resale stores for treasures, collecting buttons, hearts, and other collectables. She loved cooking, decorating, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Chapter R, PEO, in Austin.
She is survived by her sons Mark Ocean, David Ocean, and Stephen Ocean and daughter Christine Ocean-Rintala and son-in-law, Pekka, all of Austin. She is also survived by her grandson Story Ocean of Leander. Also surviving are her sister, Rosemary Morrow of Austin; brother Bill Morrow and sister-in-law, Kathy of Cuero, Texas; and brothers-in-law Wayne Russell of Cuero, Texas; Larry Balch of Arnold Maryland. Also surviving are nephew Derek Balch, St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; and nieces Sarah Turner (Justin and son Ethan) and Hannah Smith (Kolton). She was predeceased by her parents, Terry and Gladys Morrow, and sisters Patsy Russell and Marilyn Balch, and niece Emily Morrow. Special mention to her friends Nancy Townsend, Alan and Kathy Reiman, Andy and Gail Oberta, and cousin, Sandi Burleson.
Services will be held at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 263 Spur 962 East, Cypress Mill, Texas, at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 27. Graveside services will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Cuero, Texas, at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, February 27.
