

Jean was born August 28, 1931 in Wichita Falls, TX to parents Arthur Evans and Ibbie (Martin) Evans. She graduated from Austin High School in 1948. She worked for the IRS from 1962 to 1992 where she achieved the position of Problem Resolution Section Chief for the Examination Division in Austin district.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married Ewald W. Bunge in 1949 and the couple had 2 children together. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on October 16, 2017.
Jean was a social, active woman who was involved in the Exchange Club of Austin and the First Methodist and St. John’s Methodist Church as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoyed family, travel and gardening. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving wife and mother and a classy person.
She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Ewald W. Bunge of Austin, daughters Sandra Bunge Wilson (Randy) of Austin; Sheila Jean Nunley (Mark) of Austin, grandsons Nathan Andrew Nunley (Courtney) of Lynnfield, MA; Benjamin Evans Nunley of Seattle WA; and great-granddaughters Bryce Hope Nunley and Harper Jean Nunley of Lynnfield, MA.
Visitation is scheduled for Jean on Tuesday, October 24th at Cook-Walden Funeral Home at 6100 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin, TX from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 25th in Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, 2800 Hancock Drive, Austin, TX.
