

JeanAnn Hutsell was born on November 20, 1965, and died on March 20, 2026, at the age of 60. She grew up in Katy, Texas; as an adult, she lived in Houston, TX and then moved to Austin, TX where she died. She was known by many names: JeanAnn, Jean, GiGi, Aunt JeanAnn, Baby Jean, and Baby Sis. She will be remembered as loving & kind, with a wonderful sense of humor and a generous heart, by all her family and her friends.
JeanAnn was very active in choir, speech, and drama as a teenager; she majored in Theatre Arts, English, and Education in college, and continued to act in Houston community theaters as an adult for years. In addition, she combined her love of acting and her passion for working with young people into a career as a Speech/Theater Arts teacher for several school districts in the Houston area. She loved teaching very much and found immense joy working with her students.
After moving to Austin, JeanAnn found tremendous fulfillment at Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired/TSBV. She was very committed to her various roles there and loved her students with all her heart.
JeanAnn was the granddaughter of Gratton McKinley (G.M.) Hutsell and Zelma Lemore Hutsell of Katy, TX. JeanAnn is preceded in death by her grandparents as well as her parents, LaVera Ann (Bea) Hutsell and Charles Eugene Hutsell; her uncle, Bill Miller; and her nephew, Seth Havers (sister Cynthia’s son).
JeanAnn is survived by her sisters, Suzanne Miller (husband, Jim), and Cynthia Hepler (husband, Mike, her son, Matthew Havers & his sons, Grant & Tyler); her brother, Charlie Hutsell (wife, Susan & their children, Bethany, and Jonah); her favorite aunt, Mary Ann Miller; and many cousins and their families.
