Jewel Adine Wallin went to be with our Lord on October 7, 2004 at the age of 91. Jewel was born near Manor, Texas on September 19, 1913. She was a wonderful person; all who knew her loved her very much. Jewel was a caregiver to her mother, dad, aunt, brother, sister-in-law, nephew and his fiancé. Jewel was a very generous and loving person who loved her church, family and friends. She was a long-time member of Faith United Methodist Church, since the 1950s; however, it was very difficult for her to attend in recent years due to her illness. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Womens Guild, a former Sunday School Teacher and former Treasurer of the Church. She is survived by her nephew, Thomas (Tommy) Wallin, Jr. and his fiancée Alice Amanda Jones; and cousin, Doris Finkelstein, of Austin. She was preceded in death by her father, John William Wallin; mother, Victoria Helga Wallin; brother, Thomas G. Wallin, Sr. Jewel worked for Texas Employment Commission for 34 years, was a dedicated State employee, and enjoyed her work immensely. The family would like to extend its heartfelt thanks to her wonderful friend, Annie Alvarado, who was with Jewel throughout her entire stay in the hospital and at the Rehabilitation Center. They would also like to thank Lone Star Hospice who gave her family so much support during her last days in the hospital.
