Joann H Cornelius

JoAnn was born on July 24, 1928 in Christoval, Texas, in Tom Green County. She was a graduate of Christoval High School on May 15, 1945. After graduation she entered nursing school at Shannon Hospital in San Angelo, TX on July 1, 1945. She was in training there until she met and married H. C. (Bus) Cornelius on October 31, 1946 and they were married 57 years until his death on April 3, 2004. They lived in the same home in Austin for all of their marriage and were members of Hyde Park UMC from 1951-2010. JoAnn was also a member of ST David’s Auxiliary for 17 years.

JoAnn is survived by her children Jan Crouch and Nancy Hermes of San Antonio, Texas and David and Cheryl Cornelius of Thrall, Texas; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Friday, October 21, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm and a funeral service will be at 10:30 am Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home at 6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks, 14501 N IH 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
