Joe Ann Johnson

Joe Ann Hester Johnson was born on May 26, 1929, in Owensboro, Kentucky, to the late Joseph Lee and Alice Lucinda Hester. She attended the Concord Township Grade School, and Trojan High School in Troy, Ohio, where she grew up. Later she attended Oakland Community College in Farmington, Michigan. Her major was in Real Estate Science.

Joe Ann was married to Leonard James Donaldson on August 27, 1949, in Troy, Ohio. Three children were born to this union. Linda Sue on February 4, 1952; Joel Keith on June 26, 1956, premature and died the same day; and Robert Joe on February 28, 1961.

Joe Ann was saved on October 20, 1958, at Liberty Baptist Church in Salem, Missouri. She was baptized the following Sunday, October 26, 1958, in the Sinking River in Salem, Missouri. Joe Ann was a member of the Fundamentalist Baptist Church.

Joe Ann married Francis Jerry Johnson on August 22, 1979, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Joe Ann moved to Austin, Texas in June of 1982; then, moved to Marble Falls on November 21, 1986. She later moved to the Spicewood area.

Joe Ann is preceded in death by both of her parents, her sister and brother, grandson Ryan Alan Dupree and granddaughter Tara Lynn Dupree.

Joe Ann is survived by her daughter Linda Sue Donaldson Gamar and her son Robert Joe Donaldson, both of Spicewood; adopted sister Dorothy Smith of Spicewood; grandson William Jason Dupree of Horsehoe Bay; two grandchildren Bailey Dupree and Joshua Dupree of Horseshoe Bay; as well as by great-grandchildren Cassidy Rae Dupree, Robonne Dupree, Camden Dupree, and Jaxon Dupree.

A visitation for Joe Ann will be held on Friday, February 3, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. The funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM. A graveside service is to follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park at 1:00 PM.
