Joe Michael Perez

Joe Michael Perez, 66, died August 28, 2024, at 3:33am at home surrounded by family.

Michael was a born and raised Austinite. He was a regular around Austin. He would eat breakfast at Dan’s on Manchaca on a regular basis. He was well known for doing concrete work around Austin. He loved watching boxing and went to see many boxing matches that included boxer from Roberto Duran, Manny Pacquiao and most recently Saul “Canelo” Alvarez. Just like the fighters he watched, he battled kidney disease for over 20 years, and we would like to send a huge thank you to his kidney doctor Dr. Peter Miller with Austin Kidney Associates. Also, we would like to send a huge thank you to Dr. Vinh Nguyen with Texas Heart and Vascular. Also, Satellite Dialysis Services at Southwood where he was a patient for over 10 years. Lastly a huge thank you to Enhabit Home Health and Hospice for everything they did in his last days.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ygnacio Perez Sr. and mother, Rosa Lima Perez; brother, Johnny Perez; sisters, Maria Guadalupe Tuscano and Carlota Perez.

His is survived by his brothers, Anthony Perez and Ygnacio Perez Jr.; his former wife, Maryann Perez; his sons, Michael A. Perez Sr. and wife, Jana Perez and John Gabriel Perez; and his daughter and her husband Stephanie Alaniz and Jesus Alaniz. Also, four Grandsons, Michael Perez Jr., Gabriel Perez, Isaiah Drexler-Perez and Andreas Alaniz.

A visitation for Joe will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Weed-Corley-Fish South Chapel, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704. A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Saint Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 126 W. Oltorf, Austin, Texas 78704.
