

John was born in Austin Texas to Anthony and Cherie Hanson on April 16, 1989 at 11:11 am. He went to high school at James Bowie High School and graduated in 2007. John graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Business Administration with a Major in Management in December 2011. He was a proud member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity where he served as President. John was very athletic and enjoyed playing all intramural sports at Texas State in which his SAE teams consistently placed first. John had a special love of baseball which he began the young age of four with his father's devoted attention. His left handed swing was as big as his smile. John had such a kind and loving heart and was a friend to everyone. His sense of humor and fun seeking attitude are traits that will never be forgotten. John was always willing to lend a hand to a stranger, a neighbor, a friend and especially his family. He enjoyed community service and had a special fondness working with Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels and more.
John is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lavern and Fred B. Miller; and his Uncle Roger A. Miller.
John is survived by his parents Anthony and Cherie Hanson and his best friend and sister, Laura Elizabeth Hanson. He is also survived by his grandparents John and Joan Hanson, Aunt Karen Hale and Uncle Benjamin DeLawyer; Aunt Jane Wear; Aunt Patrice Barton and Uncle Jerry Barton; Aunt Mary Stephens, Aunt Sarah Miller and cousins Matthew Wear, Colin Wear, Megan Miller, Erin Miller, Seth Barton, McLean Stephens, and Shane Moehle; God Parents Costas & Ginger Tzaperas, their son Alex and many, many friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress with Recitation of the Holy Rosary to begin at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Rd. with Reverend Patrick Coakley, MSC as Celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity or Meal on Wheels.
