

John Joseph Langford passed away September 11, 2004 after a brief struggle with cancer. He lived a full life during his 67 years. He was born November 30, 1936, in Crawford County, Kansas. His parents were John and Josephine Marn Langford. He graduated from Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas in 1958, with a degree in chemistry. He was also awarded a management certificate from Harvard Business School. He worked in the chemicals industry for CONOCO in Ponca City, Oklahoma, New York City, Saddlebrook, New Jersey, and Houston, Texas. He was one of the principals in organizing VISTA Chemicals, where he retired as Vice President of Marketing and Sales in 1988. He was a dedicated member of Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church for 15 years and gave generously of his time to many people. He touched many lives. Survivors include his beloved wife, Brenda Sullender Langford; children, Lisa Pepin and husband Greg, Sugar Land, Texas; Brad Langford and his wife Jessica, Redwood City, California; step-daughter, Jennifer McNally and husband Adam, Louisville, Colorado; and grandchildren Daniel and Katherine Pepin; Joely and Gracyn Langford; and Grace McNally. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine Marn Langford, and his first wife, Judith Ann Langford. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, September 14, 2004, at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church, 7127 Bee Caves Road at Barton Creek Boulevard. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to Manos de Cristo, 1200 Willow Street, Austin, Texas 78702. Mr. Langford volunteered many hours of service to this organization, which provides Christian care and nurture for the body, mind and spirit for those less fortunate.
