Born on May 6, 1963, John, a life long Austinite, attended Brentwood Elementary and McCallum High School. He later built a career as a self-made entrepreneur, working in deconstruction and various other trades, always with his strong work ethic, sense of humor and a smile.
John was known for his outgoing personality and generous spirit. He was always the first to lend a helping hand, earning him the admiration and respect of those around him. Among his favorite pastimes was barbecuing with friends and family, an activity he considered "Top Notch." His gatherings were filled with laughter, good food, and cherished memories.
He is survived by his father, Cmdr. J. Adam Lopez; his mother, Linda Louise Lopez; his siblings, Liz Lopez Waisner and Linda Sue Lopez Janak; and his children, Jonathon Joe Monroe Lopez, Shelby Lynnelle Lopez, and Copas Lee Sendral Lopez. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Frank Monroe Lopez.
John’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
