John W. Lyle

A lifelong Texan, John graduated from Austin High School and attended UT Austin. John was one of the founding members, and a deacon for many years at Hyde Park Church of Christ. He retired from Southern Union Gas Co. in 1985, after 39 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Lyle. He was also preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Belle Lyle, and brother, Richard Lyle.

He is survived by his son, Allan Lyle and wife Sandy of Hutto, TX and his daughter, Pamela Sapia and husband Johnny, of Garden Ridge TX. Grandchildren, Shawndale Scott and Husband Randy of San Antonio, TX, Crystal Sapia of Garden Ridge, TX, Dr. Megan Lyle of Jackson, Miss, and Brian Lyle of McGuire AFB, NJ. One great granddaughter, Annabell Scott of San Antonio, TX.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the evening, on Thursday the 24th of July 2014, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.

A Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00am in the morning on Friday, the 25th of July, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery Pflugerville, Texas.
