John F. (Jack) Morris John F. (Jack) Morris was born October 20, 1931 in Dallas, Texas. He passed away August 24, 2003 after a brief bout with Cancer. He attended Highland Park High School in Dallas and UT Austin where he received a Bachelors Degree in Philosophy with a Concentration in Logic. He continued for two years in graduate studies in these same subjects. As a youngster he became an Eagle Scout with Bronze and Silver Palms. Pursuing the Astronomy Merit Badge began a life long interest in Amateur Astronomy. In 1957 he wooed and wed Corinne (Cody) Couch Browning, widow of 1952 Olympic Diving Champion, David G. (Skippy) Browning. Jack had been a teammate and close friend of Skippys in both high school and at the university. In March of 1959, Jack and Cody bought a fixer upper on Lake Austin and spent the next forty years doing just that. They enjoyed swimming, water skiing, wake surfing and a panoramic view of the entire south end of the lake. While that area was still included in the city limits of West Lake Hills, Jack served one term on that citys council. Jack is survived by Cody and their three adored children, Matt, Leslie and Glenn; in addition to Matts wife, Monica and two grandsons, Trevor and Jack. Jack had an eclectic employment resume with significant time spent as an insurance underwriter, salesman and lobbyist; including an interesting two-year stint as General Manager of James Avery Craftsman, Inc. in Kerrville. He spent his last eighteen years of employment at The Texas Real Estate Commission where he directed the regulation of Residential Service Companies, Timeshare Offerings and Real Estate Inspectors. Graveside services will be held at Austin Memorial Park on Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at 10:00am. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Jacks life following services at the familys home. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a charity of your choice.
