John Harding Sobeck

John Harding "Johnny" Sobeck, Sr. John Harding "Johnny" Sobeck Sr., of Austin, Texas, was called to join his heavenly family on September 11, 2008 at the age of 87. He was born on January 20, 1921 in Austin, Texas to Emma Dee and Conrad Rudolph Sobeck. Johnny met and married his love Lillie Victoria, wife of 61 years. Johnny proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He provided well for his family as a cement mason for over 40 years. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his four brothers; four sisters; and granddaughter. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Jean Cosgrove and husband John; his son, John Harding Sobeck Jr. and wife Margaret; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. Family will receive visitors from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at Capital Memorial Park in Pflugerville, Texas with the Reverend Tim Anderson officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Carl Sobeck, Brian Sobeck, Cary Cosgrove, Casey Cosgrove, Richie Hage, Michael Massey. Serving as Honorary pallbearers will be Woodie Massey and Walter Rosenbusch.
