Jose “Joey” Delgadillo, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2025, surrounded by his family and friends. Born in El Paso, Texas, Joey made Austin his home in 2001 and built a life filled with passion, purpose, and deep connection.
Joey shared a beautiful journey with his wife, Mary Delgadillo. Together for more than 25 years and married for 15, their relationship was grounded in friendship and unconditional love. He was a devoted father to their three daughters, who were the pride and light of his life.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Joey was rarely without a game on or a team to root for—especially the San Francisco 49ers and UT Longhorns. A true “guy’s guy,” he had a knack for sparking lively debates, telling a good story, and sharing thoughtful lessons in history. His happiest moments were often the quiet ones, watching the nature channel with his girls, laughing with loved ones, or casting a line on a calm lake.
Joey’s passion extended beyond the field and into the kitchen. A proud graduate of Le Cordon Bleu and a dedicated foodie, he spent most of his career in the restaurant industry. Known for his creativity, warmth, and care for others, Joey brought joy to many through his culinary talents. He fulfilled a lifelong dream when he became a restaurant owner—an accomplishment that meant the world to him.
Above all, Joey will be remembered for his generous heart, infectious humor, and the unwavering love he had for his family and friends. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a true friend to all who knew him.
The Delgadillo family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone who offered love, care, and compassion throughout Joey’s life and during his final days. Your kindness, support, and generosity have provided strength during this difficult time.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Joey’s life will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4800 Convict Hill Road, Austin, TX.
Interment will be at 2 P.M. on Friday, May 9, 2025 at Cook-Walden Forest Oaks Memorial Park, 6300 W William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749.
Joey’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.
