Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on North Lamar, and at the Schneeberger Funeral Home in Canton, Ohio. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Canton, Ohio, next to his late wife Mary Ellen (Mel).
He is survived by his sisters Mary Mueller and Theresa Roshong, his brother Judge John F. Boggins (ret.) and his late wife's niece Jennifer Robinson and nephew James Quayle; all of whom live in Ohio.
Joe was a graduate of Kent State University and the College of Law at Ohio State University. He was a member of the Ohio Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and the Travis County Bar Association.
He formerly chaired committees of the Texas and Travis County Bar Associations. He was admitted to practice before various courts including the U.S. Supreme Court. Joe was also a member of the Texas and American Society of Association Executives where he chaired committees. In his earlier career, Joe was a trade association executive but for the past 30-plus years was in the private practice of law. He was a member of the Headliners Club.
Joe was a former Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, having twice served in the Corps.
