

A memorial service honoring the life of Joseph Schiraldi, age 70, longtime resident of Austin, will be held at 1:00 pm, November 10, 2005, at Riverbend Chapel, 4214 Capital of Texas Highway North. Mr. Schiraldi died Saturday, November 5, 2005. He was born March 9, 1935, in New York, New York, the son of Michael and Anna Schiraldi. After graduating from Robert E. Lee High School where he participated in football, basketball and track, he attended Texas A&M University on a basketball and track scholarship. He then joined the U. S. Army. Survivors: wife of 45 years, Ramona Powell Schiraldi; son and his wife, Calvin and Debbie Schiraldi; daughter and her husband, Rhonda and Ruben Hermes da Fonseca from Maui, Hawaii; grandchildren, Samantha Schiraldi, Lukas Schiraldi, Daniel Hermes da Fonseca, Alec Hermes da Fonseca; sister, Doris Tiner from Baytown, Texas; brother, William Schiraldi from Richmond, Texas; nephew and his wife, Michael and Betti Tiner from Houston, Texas and nieces, Kristen and Keri Tiner. Joe moved to Austin in 1967. He was employed by Remington Rand and G&LVBJ. Fifteen years prior to his retirement he owned the Bull Pen. Joe was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being with friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. D. F. Loukas, Dr. James Black and the staff of Seton Hospital for their wonderful care and support.
