Judy lived a life defined by grace, faith, and an open heart in service to others. She carried her Christian beliefs not only in word but in action. This is seen through her generosity and service to others, including her time volunteering in soup kitchens, serving as a CASA volunteer, supporting anti-human trafficking efforts, and supporting poverty alleviation around the world in the name of Jesus.
She was an extraordinary host, known for opening her home and heart with warmth and intention, whether for lively gatherings, holiday celebrations, or quiet visits with people who simply needed to feel welcomed and loved. Judy had a rare gift for putting others at ease; her gentle spirit made everyone feel valued and at home.
She was also known for her adventurous spirit and joyful demeanor. She laughed easily and often and she made everyone around her laugh just as freely. Family memories are filled with laughter. It is one of the sweetest gifts she leaves behind.
Judy was married to John Hasse Sr. for more than 50 years until his passing in 2020, and their life together was a foundation of love, partnership, and steady devotion.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and constant source of encouragement to her family. Judy is survived by her sons, John Hasse Jr. and his wife, Aubrey, and Jim Hasse and his wife, Lori, and through them seven grandchildren; her stepson Carlton Kincaid and his wife Dana, along with their two children, and her sister and best friend, Diana Barbaglia. She was also dearly loved by many nieces and nephews, who will miss her deeply. She was also blessed to have so many friends whose lives were touched by Judy.
Those who knew Judy will remember her peaceful presence, her ready smile and laughter, and her always open arms, both literally and figuratively, for the next adventure or conversation. She approached life with gratitude, confidence and steadiness, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, generosity, and enduring joy. She truly lived out her bucket list and encouraged all to do the same.
While her family grieves her passing, they are deeply grateful for the many years they were blessed to share with her and take comfort in the assurance of eternal life through Christ.
A funeral service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on March 7, 2026, at Bethany United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas. The charities we found her contributing to include www.familylegacy.com and https://gocorps.org.
