

Deptula, Julia M. (Julie) November 18, 1920 October 17, 2004 Widow of Major Vincent Deptula, United States Army and four year resident of Austin, Julie returned to the loving arms of her heavenly Father this past Sunday. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Julie met, married and traveled with her husband and children abroad and throughout the United States. Upon Major Deptulas retirement, the family settled in Hialeah, Florida where Julie resided for forty five years before coming to Austin. Julie devoted her life to her family and in caring for others at home, in her community and through her service to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was also Top Sales Associate for Florida based Burdines and Richards Department Stores for over twenty five consecutive years. She will be remembered always as a devoted wife and mother; the beautiful lady with twinkling eyes and radiant smile. Her beloved husbands ashes will accompany Julie as they return full circle to their Island of Enchantment where their life together began. Private services will be held at Ehret Funeral Home in San Juan, Puerto Rico with interment at Puerto Rico National Cemetery. Her family wishes to express deepest appreciation for the tender care given to her by Kathye Blagg and Hycrest House, Denise LoSchiavo, the administration and staff of Barton House, Vista Care Hospice, Jonea Raney and her angels on Bissel Lane and the eucharist ministers of St. Alberts the Great Catholic Church. For visits, phone calls, gifts and loving support, care and concern throughout Julies illness, her family extends heartfelt gratitude to family and friends. Julie is survived by daughters: Jeannie Kirkham, Tamarac, Florida; Dinah (Bill) Flood, Austin, Texas. Son: Geary (Fran) Deptula, Crofton, Maryland. Brother: Salvador (Petri) Alvarez, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Sisters: Socorro Alvarez Rivera de Roman and Virginia Alvarez, Guaynabo, P.R. Grandchildren: Robert V. Kirkham, Sunrise, FL; Karla (Robert) Powell, W. Palm Beach, FL; Alan Alexander, Athens, GA; Stephen Alexander, Shannon Flood and Mark Flood, Austin, TX; Peter, Lana, Sasha, Gregory and Nicholas Deptula, Crofton, MD. Great-grandchildren: Cameron and Patrick Powell, W. Palm Beach, FL; Kayla and Courtney Kirkham, Jensen Beach, FL. Julies vast number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and next generation thereof, reside in Puerto Rico, the contiguous U.S. and throughout the world. Duerme con los angelitos.
