

Katherine Lee Batson Carroll was born on February 9, 1961 in Abilene, Texas. She died peacefully in her home on July 25, 2010 after a four year battle with ovarian cancer. Kathy was a selfless, loyal, and genuine woman, evidenced by her many friends and loved ones. She found purpose in life through her daughters, serving as an example and inspiration to them and everyone around her.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Kelsey and McKenzie; Kelsey’s fiancé, Ronnie; her parents, Frank and Darlene Batson; her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Tony Daniel; her nephews, Zach, Tyler, Jordan & his wife Jill, Brandon, and Taylor; her mother-in-law, Wilma Carroll; her brother-in-law, Johnny & his wife, Debbie; and her countless friends who all loved her very much.
Kathy moved to Austin from Abilene in 1983, where she has lived for the past 27 years. Kathy served as the court reporter for the Honorable Lee Yeakel, United States District Court for seven years. She also served as the court reporter for other federal district judges, including the Honorable William Wayne Justice. The entire court family of the Western District of Texas will miss her grace and friendship.

A memorial service remembering Kathy’s life will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Hill Country Bible Church~Northwest, 12124 RR 620 N., Austin, Texas 78750.
