
Time goes too quick. Kay ( 60 yrs & Vida 100 yrs ). I was a long time friend and coworker at Scarbrough's. Before the twins and luck to be part of the many fun days over the many years knowing Kay. She was that wonderful person, full of laughs and desire. Miss you and best of memories of a wonderful person, whom I was luck to know.



Charlie and Michael:  I am so sorry for your loss...well, really, everyone's loss.  I know it's been over a month now, but I remember that I was in a fog for a long time when my mom died.  Your mom was such a vibrant, optomistic woman.  I looked to her for advice and compassion.  Even though we didn't see each other often, the times we spent together were filled with laughter and LOTS of hugs.  She was a connection with my mom without the "family" strings.  She accepted me for who I am and who I wanted to be.  Being with her made me a better person.  I loved her dearly and miss her terribly.  All my love to you and to Aunt Vida.  You are in my thoughts and prayers (and have been for this last month or so).  God Bless.  Kirsten

I was privileged to work with Kay for many years and will miss more than I can say.   She was a wonderful person who brought something special into the lives of everyone who knew her.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.



To Kay's sons - Charlie and Michael Harris, Mother - Vida Holder, brother Dale and wife and nieces and nephews and loyal friend at Drapery Den, Cheryl Moore, I want to express to you "my sincere sympathy".  As an Interior Designer, as Kay was, and having worked for her briefly in the mid 1980's, we also shared the misfortune of having cancer at the same time and we were both patients at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, at the same time. I was a friend of Kay's many years ago when our children were small. We were in The Mother of Twins Club. I was so sorry to read about her passing. Please know that I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I know that your friends and family will be a comfort to you during this sad time.

Kay and I knew each other from elementary school through high school in Houston.  We later met up in Austin when she was pregnant with those twins!  I never saw a belly so big.  She had the warmest heart and wit and I was really saddened that her fight with cancer didn't turn out the way we all wanted.      Love and blessings on her family.



Kay had a special light within her and loved to share it with others.  It was a joy for me to cut her hair, and a blessing to have her as a friend.  She truly made an impact on me and those around her.  She will be missed.

Knowing and loving Kay was one of the greatest gifts of this life.  I know that she is now in a better place.  My love and caring go to Mom (Vida), Charley, Michael and all the family and friends.



We are so saddened to hear of the loss of such a fine lady.  Kay was so much fun to be around and we spent countless hours talking and laughing as she would come to our home to measure and install draperies. Kay was more than a friend.  She was as close to me as a sister.  We laughed, cried, and shared wonderful times together.  My family's and my loss is indescribable.  Vida, my love surrounds you, Dearie Doll...a name that is precious to me.  Charlie and Michael, there are so many of us who love and pray for you.  Please know your mom will always be remembered with unbounded love.  Dale, Tina, and family, Kay was blessed to have such loving family and voiced that feeling outloud...our prayers are with you all.



Vida,Mike & Charlie,    a joyous light has gone to light-up heaven.  Kay was my first Austin friend.  We spent countless hours at City Park, camping out and water-skiing, and LAUGHING so much.  We came to the Parade of Homes at Onion Creek together and moved in within six weeks of each other. The rest is history. She was the most courageous person (woman) I knew.
