Keith Robert Heffington

Keith Robert Heffington was born September 2, 1961 in Denton, Texas and died May 24, 2006 in Austin, Texas. Keith graduated from Westlake High School where he was very active in sports and was an accomplished member of the pole vaulting team. In 1980, life changed for Keith as a result of a tragic motorcycle wreck the night he graduated. His days as an avid hunter and sportsman ended. Keith had a courageous spirit that seemed to be capable of overcoming all obstacles and he never stopped trying to overcome them. He never gave up. Keith spent the last eight years of his life in a wonderful facility in Austin called the Mary Lee Foundation. Thanks to the care and nurturing of the staff at Mary Lee, Keith was able to deal with his life. Keith is survived by his daughter, Shauna; his father, Joe and wife Susan Heffington; mother, Dierdre Heffington; brother, Derek Heffington; sister, Wendy and her husband Shaf Rahman; step-brother, Jordan Francis; niece, Jessica Friesen; and nephews, Cody, Sean and Brian Heffington. Graveside services will be at high noon on Saturday, May 27, 2006 at Long Mountain Cemetery, Mason County Texas.
