

Kent Hayner age 68 passed away at St. Davids Medical Center on May 2, 2012 with his wife Beth and close friends by his side. Kent was born October 30, 1943 in Tyler, Texas to William Montague Hayner and Elsie (Haddad) Hayner.
Kent was an entrepreneur from the start, and worked in many industries but found his niche in the music industry. He was known in the rock world as the Iatola of Rock and Rolla. His company, Home Grown Catering was the first successful touring back-stage catering company in the music industry. After leaving the music industry due to health reasons, he opened and operated the Backstage Steak house on Highway 71 in Spicewood from 2002 until it’s closing in 2010.
Kent was enjoying retirement with his wife and dogs at the time of his death.
Kent is predeceased by his parents, and loyal German Shepherd companion Joey. He is survived by his wife Beth Fowler Hayner, one brother, Bill and his wife Susan, his nephew Bill Hayner Jr., grand-niece Natalie Hayner, god-son Rene Rodriguez, his loyal companions Jazzy and Jackson, and many dear and special friends.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations under Kent’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and or the Sunshine Kids.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. and the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home located at 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin Texas 78750. Burial will take place Monday, May 7, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler Texas.
