L. Romaine Flanagin, born May 16, 1918 in Tulia, Texas to Fred and Mabel Cox, died on October 18, 2008, she now joins her husband, Charles P. Flanagin who preceded her in death on January 22, 1974. Romaine served in the Women's Air Corp in WWII where she met her husband, Charles P. Flanagin. She is preceded in death by her husband, her granddaughter Sarah, and her son Steve. She is survived by her daughters, Jan, Elaine, Betty, and Eloise; son, Chuck; and by her sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived in Austin from 1969 to present, most recently at Regency Village Care Center. After the death of her husband she completed college at the University of Texas at Austin. She worked in Pre K at Faith Presbyterian and later as assistant upholstery teacher at ACC. She was active for years in the Austin Stamp Club. She loved her family and friends and she will be missed. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2008 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 10000 David Moore Road, Austin, Texas 78748.
