L. Duane Towse, loving husband and father, went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2011. Born on October 31, 1929, in Sterling, KS. Survived by wife of 60 years, Audene, and their son Phillip and his wife Cathye Jo Towse, and daughters Kathryn Towse Beeler, Dana Towse-Paulk and her husband Terry Paulk, and Lynette and her husband Douglas Caldwell. Also survived by grandchildren Stephanie and Brandon Towse, Jessica and her husband Matt Lundin, Allison Caldwell, Charles Paulk, and Ryan and his wife Sarah Paulk and great-granddaughter Sydney Paulk.
Dad grew up in Kansas and moved his family to Houston in 1962, where he was employed at Brown and Root. Moved to Smithville in 2000, and Austin in 2010. Enthusiastically participated in his children and grandchildren’s education, activities, and sporting events. Instilled in his children a passion for camping, fishing and enjoying nature. Lifetime member of the First Christian Church, serving in many leadership capacities, and a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge.
The family will gather for a celebration of his life.
