Laura Lee Murray was born in Georgetown, Texas, on March 20, 1922, to Will and Martha Jolly. Laura passed away on April 5, 2009, at the age of 87, in San Antonio where she had been living since 2006. Laura married Lonnie L. Murray on June 10, 1940. They raised two children, Martha Ellen Murray and Charlotte Frances Murray. They lived at Avenue C in Hyde Park since they married. Laura was a Department Manager at Sears for 25 years until retirement. She was a gentle, warm and caring person and loved by all who knew her. She will be missed greatly. Laura was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Lonnie, in 2004; her sisters, Georgia, Bennie, Willie, Iva; brothers Lonnie and Walter; and granddaughter, Kay Lynn Lewis. She is survived by her daughters, Martha Ellen Murray of San Antonio; Charlotte Lingrell of Austin; grandchildren, Lisa Roberts and Jeff Bird of San Antonio; Christopher Lewis of Canada; David Freudenberg of Austin; 5 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 on Thursday, April 9, 2009, followed by funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery Annex.
