

Lawrence Mark Joseph was born in Austin, Texas on April 13, 1953 to Mildred and Sammie Joseph. Larry was a third generation member of the Cater Joseph family who originally settled in Austin in 1881 five generations ago. Larry entered heaven after a yearlong battle with cancer on August 5, 2015. Larry lived in Austin all of his life and attended St. Austin's School, the Austin public schools and the University of Texas.
Larry is survived by his wife, Ingrid Estetter, his daughter, April Joseph Gruder, her husband, Benjamin, and his grandchildren, Jacob and Wynne. Larry also is survived by his mother, Mildred Joseph, brothers, Philip Joseph and wife, Lisa, Sammie Joseph, Jr. and wife, Susan, and his sister, Laura Joseph, along with many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends including Mike and Cate McGinnis and the Sue Dawson family. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Sammie F. Joseph, Sr.
Family was extremely important to Larry. He was a loving grandfather, father, son, husband, brother and uncle. He was a gourmet cook and a mentor to all of his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by all. Larry founded and operated Strategic Database, Inc.
There will be a rosary on August 7 at 7:00 p.m. with visitation from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd., Austin. Interment will take place on August 8 at 9:00 a.m. at Assumption Cemetery. A Memorial Mass will be held on August 8 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cathedral with Very Reverend Albert Laforet, Jr., celebrant. A reception will be held at St. Mary's Bishop Hall following the Mass.
Serving as pallbearers are Benjamin Gruder, Sammie Joseph, III, Mark Cater Joseph, Cheryl Joseph, Philip Joseph, Jr., Catherine Joseph, Christopher Joseph, Dr. George Shia, and Mike McGinnis. Honorary pallbearers are Jacob Gruder, Joe L. Joseph, Hadi Ibrahim, Steven Rundell, J. R. Andreassen, and Craig McClendon.
