Leda Druian was called to her eternal home in Heaven by her Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 14, 2012, at the age of 93. It is truly special that she is now reunited with Louis, her husband of 58 years, on Valentine’s Day.
She was a long time resident of Austin. Prior to her marriage to Maj. Louis Druian, Lee was a Public Information Specialist for an USAF organization at Andrews AF Base in Wash. D.C. with several published articles. Upon her marriage, she accompanied her husband extensively in Europe and Taiwan, learning and enjoying the various cultures. Lee was a charter member of the Austin Bergstrom Retired Officer's Wives Club and had held the position of Membership Chairman.
Lee, as she was affectionately called by her friends, was a member of the Bannockburn Baptist Church, which she dearly loved, and was an ardent "prayer warrior" for all who had special needs.
She is preceded by her loving husband Louis Druian and is survived by her loving family. Son, Roy Druian and wife, Joni of Austin; son, Scott Druian and his wife, Kathleen of Duluth, Georgia; five granddaughters, two great grandsons and one great granddaughter.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at Bannockburn Baptist Church at 1:00 p.m., Saturday February 18, with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Bannockburn Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family would like to express our sincere heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff at Longhorn Village, Casa Mesquite II, for the wonderful care of Lee over the past 14 months, and to Heart to Heart Hospice during her final journey.
