

Leigh Z. Naftolin passed away on July 26, 2017 after a lengthy illness. Born December 29, 1936 in Baltimore, MD., he was raised in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. Leigh attended the University of Western Ontario where he received both his Bachelor of Science degree in 1959 and his Doctoral Degree of Medicine in 1963. He practiced Family Medicine for 12 years in London, Ontario where he was very involved with the Ontario Medical Association and the College of Family Practice, and served on various boards within those organizations.
In 1976, Leigh moved his family to Houston, Texas where he practiced Family Medicine for 25 years before retiring in 2001. Upon retirement, he and his wife Barbara moved to Lakeway, Texas where he became active in the community with memberships in the Lakeway Men’s Breakfast Club and Newcomers Alumni. He was appointed by the Mayor of Lakeway to represent the City on the Travis County Commissioner’s Court for which he was awarded the “2011 Unsung Hero”.
He is survived by his loving wife Barbara; daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Josh Sinsley, son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Chastity Naftolin and sons Richard Naftolin, Eric and Brian Meldahl. Leigh was the adored Papa to Jeff, Steph, Eric, Kisten, Elana and Carson. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Stanley and Molly, and brother Perry “Pink”; sister-in-law Bonnie; nieces Heather, Jill, Susan, Robin, Cindy, Callaie, Amy, Eliza and Lily; nephews David, Michael, Andy and Alex. Leigh was the widowed husband of his late wife, Judy and the son of the late Marcia and Isadore “Nifty” Naftolin of London, Ontario.

Graveside service will be held Friday, July 28, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, Beth Israel Section, 14501 North IH35, Pflugerville, TX.
