Mrs. Lelia R. Tenorio 86, of Austin passed away Monday May 20, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Lelia was born to Manuel and Nicolasa Ramos in Austin, Texas. She grew up amongst her 5 siblings being a devout catholic in which she carried her faith with her throughout her life and everywhere she went. Lelia met the love of her life, Ramiro, while hanging out with friends when they were young. The pair joined in matrimony for 48 years until Ramiro’s passing and produced a beautiful family during their union. Lelia worked for the University of Texas at Austin as a manager until she retired after 25 years of service. Her faith and love for travel took Lelia around the world which included trips to Rome, Italy, the Sistine Chapel, and the Vatican where she was able to see the Pope. As well as local trips to San Juan, Tx to visit the Basilica located there. Lelia made sure that she engrained her love for her faith into her family by saying the rosary nightly with them and actively participating in her church’s events. She served her church, St Julia Catholic Church, by volunteering for the Jamaica Celebration, and ran a soda ring toss booth for over 20 years. Outside of volunteering for the church Lelia’s love for cooking always brought her family together. Cooking gave her an opportunity to hang with her family, which is something she loved the most.
