Some my favorite camping memories were with Nancy, Les, Millie and their family.  Les was a great sport at Trivial Pursuit, we will miss you.  My prayers and thoughts are with you.  Les,  say hello to God for me.

We would like to express our sympathies to you Nancy and to the rest of your family.  Arny and I met Les and Nancy in the mid 70's when we attended the same church in O'Fallon, Illinois.  In addition to church-related events, we spent many weekends camping together IN THE RAIN. Les and Nancy served as sponsors for our daughter Laura.  While we haven't seen much of each other since then, we have been able to stay in touch through our annual Christmas cards.  We will always treasure the memories of the time spent with you and Les and your children.  May God be with you at this difficult time.

I grew up with Lesley in Pearland - the class of 1965 had 72 graduates & at least a third of us started first grade together - I have wonderful memories of growing up where our parents knew what we had done before we got home - I think our class had a strong bond possibility because one of our classmates drown in river in Wimberly on our senior trip - I am so sorry for your loss I pray for God to give the family strength to continue on as Lesley would want

Thank you, Lord, for the light that was Les, one of the most unique and inspiring Christ followers I have ever had the joy of knowing. 


What a giving man.  I see him all around my house - under the sink fixing the drain, in the backyard mowing the grass, laughing over a game of Chronology at the kitchen table, standing in the living room leading in prayer and Bible study.  He gave so much to me and I am such a very small part of his life!   The  number of people he has given to, invested in, is countless. 


What a discipler of men.  He discipled my Dave taking him to work at the orphanage in Mexico, to help the fire victims in Bastrop, to serve the homeless in downtown Austin.  Les

Les, I sit here in tears of sadness and of joy. I know you are no longer suffering and you have entered into the presence of the Father. The heavens are rejoicing another brother has come home! I know you will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved you. Those you helped along the way. Expecially my family. Thank you for your prayers, help, time and friendship. I feel blessed to have known you, a real life hero. Until we see you again! I love you Nancy.

Les was such an inspiration to many, he leaves behind a great legacy.  Our prayers are with you, Nancy and family, as you continue on your journey.  We will always remember his smile, his desire to put God first in his life and his daily journals that were a blessing and encouragement to many.

Les and I, although we never met, shared a bond from the second we became friends on Facebook.  My angel & friend, Sandy Palumbo, suggested I write to him, as I also battled cancer. Both Sandy & I wrote to Les, giving him the Adventures of Austin {Sandy's dog}, Madison {my cat} & Sarah {my dog}. I know we put a smile on Les' face when he read of their antics. Les, was always mentioned by name, when I prayed as I prepared Madison & Sarah's food. Sometime ago, Les thanked me for our prayers, and he appreciated my honesty about my battle with cancer. Heaven has gained an amazing angel.  As my girls would say, "Paws Up Mr Les", we love you and will miss telling you about Madison chasing the lizards and Sarah hiding when it's bath-time. Rest in the arms of Our Lord,Les.

My family was blessed to have Les be a part of our father's walk with the Lord.  His weekly visits to share God's word, discussions on football, grandkids, Westerns on TV and life in the military were the highlight of my father's week. As my father said of Les,  "He took time to listen to an old man and be a friend in Christ."   Les lived and walked the Golden Rule everyday of his life. He will be missed.

So many memories flood back from the time Les was a Sunday School teacher to our kids.  He was also an encouraging Pastoral brother to us during a difficult time.  I know he is enjoying Heaven right now.  Our condolences to all the Hood family.

Nancy, my condolences to you and your family. Even though I never met Les in person, I'll never forget his routine "good morning" calls to you, as our night shift was ending. I always thought he had such love for you, to bestow that lovely gesture upon you.

Lesley lived a block away from me in Pearland.  We entered first grade together, played baseball, football, and basketball growing up, and graduated from Pearland High School in 1965.  I last saw him at the Pearland Historical Society Reunion a couple years ago.  He was a good man.  May God bless his soul.

I've only really known Les for the last couple of years. I grew to respect, admire, and love Les. His love of the Lord and for the Bible were obvious as well as his love for people. He talked openly about his life and possible death with courage and faith. I'm thankful for the opportunity to get to know him - a good man!

Our family was so blessed to have Les be apart of our walk with the Lord in leading the mission trips we went on together. Our condolences  go out to all of his family and friends as he has touched many hearts leading their way to the Good Lord. You will be truly missed until we meet again my brother in Christ.

The Scriptures say that a friend - a real friend - sticks closer than a brother. Les has been that friend to me, my family, and to countless numbers of others. Expecting nothing in return, he served, supported, encouraged and loved. Les was my friend before I was his pastor and I have been blessed by him as both. I will miss him but I'm confident that he is in the presence of the One he has loved above all others and we can look forward to sharing the joys of heaven with him one day.

Les has been an awesome brother In-Law and was a great and wonderful friend. He always has gone the extra mile to put others first and was in LOVE with his Lord and Savior and was not afraid to tell anyone that would listen. He was instrumental in helping my sister Nancy find her Grandmother and brother because of his dedication to her. They visited us in Alaska and one thing I can tell you is you had to be asleep before him because he was the loudest snorer that I had ever heard. He was funny, jovial and ready to do anything. I am glad that God allowed me the opportunity to know him and his family through circumstances that only he could have done. I loved him as a brother and I know he is singing praises to our Lord and Savior. Gods Blessings to his family and my sister Nancy - Psalms 23
