He was predeceased by his sister, Billye Weidner and granddaughter, April Lester. Born on October 23, 1930 in Conroe, Texas George joined the Navy at the young age of 17 to help support his mother. His patriotism was displayed daily as he continued to serve the Navy for over 30 years. He served on the first Nuclear Cruise around the world on the aircraft Carrier USS Enterprise in 1964. George was a man of action always willing to help his neighbors and extended family. For his entire life he set an example for all who knew him of dedication, devotion, and determination. He loved football, fishing, making candy, and especially shopping for cool gadgets and tools. Most mornings (until he got too weak) he tackled the crossword puzzles with his wife over a cup of coffee.
