Lillian was born May 17, 1923 in Philadelphia, PA, the daughter of Ida and Herman Fairman, sister to Dorothy Perkiss-Schwartz and her brothers, Albert & Marty Fairman. She married Martin Goodstein, the love of her life, at the young age of 19 in Houston Texas on March 6, 1943. Lillian and Marty were married 69 years and raised four children. Lillian was a "true Jewish Mom." She prided herself on her beautiful home, children and grandchildren. She loved cooking for friends. Lillian and Marty moved to Sun City Georgetown from Birmingham Alabama, 16 years ago right before their 15th grandchild was born in Austin. Upon moving to Sun City, Lillian and Martin co-founded the Congregation Havarah Shalom. Lillian enjoyed the social gatherings and loved preparing food as she was an amazing hostess. Lillian made many dear friends in Sun City where she enjoyed celebrating holidays, special events, playing mah jongg and her neighborhood book club.
Lillian loved her family. She was a devoted mother to her four children.
She is survived by her loving husband, Marty, and their children and spouses, son, Richard (and Hannah) Goodstein, daughter, Susan (and Mike) Cecil, daughter, Linda (and Burrell) Atkins, and daughter, Ilene (and Brian) Novy; her sister, Dorothy Perkiss-Schwartz. Lillian was blessed with fifteen grandchildren in birth order: Stacy, Adam, Amy, Lisa, Noah, Rachael, Daniel, Abby, Taylor, Blake, Sean, Hunter, Jordan, Brooke & Brandon and seven great-grandchildren.
