

A loyal friend, devoted wife and mother, lamb of God, Linda McPhaul Davis passed away December 26, 2014 of natural causes. She will live in our memories as a faithful, tireless servant who never met a stranger. For all who knew her, a bright light has gone out of the world and she will be truly missed by many.
Born in Lubbock, Texas in 1940, Linda grew up in Lamesa, Texas and graduated from Abilene Christian University, where she was a member of the Ko Jo Kai social club. After teaching high school in San Antonio for several years, Linda married and moved to Austin, Texas.
Throughout her life Linda was an active philanthropist. She served as President of the Assistance League of Austin and was a member of Austin Law Wives, the Helping Hand Home, and a PEO chapter. Through her church, organizations, and personal relationships, Linda enjoyed helping and supporting others whenever she could, especially her daughter and grandchildren. In later life, Linda spent many happy years with her husband on their ranch near Fredericksburg, Texas, where they raised exotic animals and miniature horses and entertained friends and family.
Linda is preceded in death by her son, Randy Taylor Davis, and husband of 48 years, Robert T. "Sonny" Davis; she is survived by daughter Alison Davis Frey and her husband Leonard W. Frey III, grandchildren Lucas "Luke" Taylor Frey, Genevieve "Gigi" Louise Frey, and step-granddaughter Isabella Carolina Frey of Austin, TX; brothers Jack McPhaul of Lubbock, TX, Tracy Crawford of Tyler, TX and their wives.
Services will be held at Austin Oaks Church in Austin, TX on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and family members that have offered their love and support to Linda and the family over the last few years and to the staff at Brookdale Spicewood Springs and Seton Hospital who cared for her with respect and kindness.
