

Lois Joram Crain Lois Joram Crain, age 94, passed away Friday, March 26, 2004 after a brief illness. Lois was born on November 14, 1909 in Longview, Texas to Lillian and Phillip Joram. It was there that she met and married Robert K. (Bob) Crain, on February 10, 1934. They moved to Austin, Texas in 1947. Lois is survived by her daughter, Lois Murphy, and husband Cole of Austin. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Suzan Brown and husband Joe, Richard Brown and wife Elaine, David Brown and wife Brenda, Jerilynn Stubbs and husband Andy, 8 great-grandchildren Laura Mauldin, Bradley Mauldin, Kathryn Brown, Evan Brown, Meredith Brown, Kyle Brown, Jacob Stubbs and Erica Stubbs, brother, Phil Joram of Washington, DC, sister, Mildred Gilcoat of Dawson, Texas and several nieces and nephews. Lois lived a very long and full life. She was an avid gardener, taking great pride in her beautiful yard. She was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed making things for others. She also was a great cook who liked to prepare dinners for family gatherings. She was very active in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending kickball games, baseball games, and school programs. Her family was very important to her and she will be greatly missed. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 28th at 2:00 p.m., at Austin Memorial Park on Hancock Drive. Pallbearers will be Richard Brown, David Brown, Joe Brown, Andy Stubbs, Bradley Mauldin, and Mike Brooks. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Hyde Park Baptist Arise and Build Capital Campaign, or to your favorite charity.
