Louann Elizabeth Benton of Elgin, TX passed away on 02 May 2015 peacefully with her family by her side. Louann was born in Glens Falls, NY and was the oldest of 5 children growing up in Indian Lake, NY. She graduated from Indian Lake Central School as Valedictorian of her class and went on to graduate from the State College of New York in Oswego with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology. After graduation she relocated to the Princeton, NJ area and worked for over 16 years at Educational Testing Service as a statistical analyst. While working there she met Drew Bowker and they were married in 1992. She had two sons, Preston and Sam, before the family moved to Omaha, NE in 1997. While living in Nebraska she opted out of her professional life to devote time to her family. Those years in Nebraska found her at some soccer, baseball and basketball games, but most of her free time was spent at or near hockey rinks across the Midwest as she supported both boys pursuits in that endeavor. The last phase of her life brought her to Texas in 2010. While in Texas she met up with some amazing folks at the Clearview Sudbury School where she served as Staff for a few years. Louann leaves behind her husband of nearly 23 years, Drew Bowker, her sons Preston and Sam, her brothers Joe Benton and Bobby Benton of Indian Lake, NY, her sisters Mary Benton Frasier of Indian Lake, NY and Lori Phoebe Benton of North Creek, NY, and her mother Diane Chapman Benton of Indian Lake, NY.
