Senior Airman Louis Edward Davion Igwe Jr. was born in Panama City, Panama on October 5th, 1997 to the parents of Patricia Hall and Louis Igwe Sr. SrA Igwe migrated to the United States in 1999 as baby with his parents and claimed Austin, Texas as his home. He was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, and co-worker.
As a child, SrA Igwe enjoyed playing video games and participated in a variety of sports. He was best known for his calm, cool and collected demeanor, easygoing spirit, friendliness and helpful disposition. He always sought to do the right thing and maintained the highest level of integrity and personal accountability. His love for his family and friends was evident in everything he did. He attended McCallum High School in Austin, Texas and graduated with honors in 2015. On March 9, 2017, SrA Igwe enlisted in the United States Air Force and successfully completed Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Upon his graduation, he attended technical training school, where he became an apprentice for the B-52 long-range bomber aircraft. He served honorably in the grade of E-4 and was stationed at Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota until he was called home by the Lord.
Today we are heartbroken because we valued his love and caring attitude, as well as his smile and warm hugs. SrA Igwe is survived by his Father Louis Igwe Sr, Mother Patricia Hall, younger sisters Ashanti and Dawn Igwe, Grandmothers Patsy Hall, Clarisa Milligan, Grandfather Ogan Igwe and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Though we mourn the loss of his physical presence, we find comfort in that we know his soul will live on forever in the presence of God Almighty, and in our hearts in the name of Jesus.
We are reminded of the word of God in the book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 that
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven, a time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck what is planted. SrA Louis Igwe, lovingly known as “Pototon”, “Little Louis”, “Louisito” or “Day-Day” to many of us, was a productive citizen and man full of dignity and honor. We are thankful for the 23 years in which we were blessed to love, laugh and live with this awesome young man. Until we meet again, when our time to transition comes. Until then son, we will forever love you.
