An Angel to Close to the Ground

Lucia Padron Champion passed away peacefully January 27, 2022

She was surrounded by her Husband and Family in the city she loved Austin, TX.

Born in beautiful San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Maria Guadalupe Arreola de Padron and Jose Lucio Padron Sanchez. Moved to and raised in Giddings, Texas. She was a fun loving, wonderful and Curious child. Her brother, only 11 months younger, Juan M. Padron Arreola and Lucia held a tight bond and always jested he caught up to her in age for about a month every year. Lucia attended Giddings High School and in 1997 she became a first-generation High School graduate. She was a daddy's girl, without a doubt a very incredibly proud Daddy and Wais (her nickname for mom). Her interest in Art, Photography and Music shown early on. Bands like Nirvana, AudioSLave, Sound Garden really shaped her life. She has a collection of Guitar pics and Concert shirts to prove it. Lucia was always an Honest and Hard Worker, a trait she got from her Dad, that carried through on any of the numerous projects she took on like volunteering for Meals on Wheels and obtaining her U.S. Citizenship in 2017. Some of her employment was at Taco Bell, Lee County Courthouse, Lee County Appraisal District, and SELCO Inc., Her most favorite and Proud position was at Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta LLP., where she was currently employed. Lucia was the front desk position where all the clients and staff

would be greeted by her Amazing and Genuine Smile with one of her favorite phases “ Good Morning”.

In 2008 Lucia moved to Austin, Texas, where she could enjoy the fantastic Music & Art scene the city has to offer and She jumped right in. Having had traveled to many other places just to see Bands and Shows she knew Austin down the road from Giddings was the place for her to be. Many of her old and new friends and bands still keep in touch with her and treasure their time spent. Music was a Huge part of her Life. She was constantly on the look out for new Bands and Artist. She and Marcus would go see them all the time. Lucia met the love of her life Marcus Champion at her friend Joel's Lunar Eclipse party. She rushed Marcus to the Hospital that night when he had an accident there. She just said “Get in my car I’ll take you.” He did not even know her name. But that is the kind of helpful person she was. And, that is how they first met. They dated for axp 5yrs and went on too many adventures to name. Lucia had always wanted a cat and one day Marcus found a little kitten out in the rain and brought it home for her. She name it Tigrah and loved and cared for her more thank anything else. Tigrah will always be her Cat. Lucia and Marcus had their dream wedding in 2015 at Zilker Clubhouse with the Austin skyline as the backdrop. Lucia loved Skylines of any city and photographed them all the time. She Loved to take pictures with everyone she met or knew. Lucia Loves Family and Friends, Nature and all Animals, Stars and Night Sky, Plants and Trees and Flowers, and which she wanted to be in and photograph all the time. Lucia and Marcus Traveled to many many places just to see Nature, or Climb a Mountain, go to a Concert, or to Venice Italy to celebrate their 5th Anniversary. Lucia Loved also to travel to see Family and Friends, whether is was for a Birthday, Christmas, Thanksgiving, or for no reason at all. She would say lets go to see so n so just because and bring them Gifts or home made Tamales. That is the kind of Peace and Joy she was always continually spreading in this World.

Lucia always lived her life on her terms, but she was always kind, gentle, loving, understanding, classy and a Lady. From beginning to End. Everything she set her mind to she accomplished (that earned her nickname Smart by her youngest siblings). Her goal in life was to bring people together to have a real good time and then she would take their picture so that they could remember and cherish it.

We are all very lucky to have had such an Angel in our Lives. She will Always be Remembered by Everyone and She has Loved and Touched the Hearts of each and everybody that met her.

Lucia is the Miracle of Life and Gods Blessing. Lucia will Always be with each and everyone of us.

There are not enough Words or Time to express Lucia’s Amazing Glorious and Fantastic Awesomeness.

Lucia left behind a Vast collection of Art, Photos, Friends, and Memories that everyone who knew her will Cherish Forever.

Lucia is Survived by her Husband Marcus Champion, her Mom Maria Padron and Dad Lucio Padron, her Siblings Juan M. Padron Arreola, Juana S. Padron Arreola, Consuelo Padron, Jose Lucio Padron Jr.

“While we all try to figure out our purpose... we might as well assimilate being human, ride that wave and enjoy being here...what else is there but living in the now.”

We will always be together in Love. I Love you Honey Pie ! Your Honey Bear Marcus.

And though our separation is temporary you can now be at the Big Rock Concert in the Sky !!
