Luellen Rhodes Knight

Luellen “Sissy” Rhodes Knight of Dripping Springs, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on October 7, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas, to Alva & Dora Rhodes. Lou grew up in Schertz, Texas (with older brother, Ronald “Buddy”) until marrying the love of her life, Ed.

Lou went to nursing school and was capped, but fell in love with Ed and quit to get married. Lou was a consummate homemaker, being involved in all of her children’s activities, house/floors kept spotless, dinner always ready, all while her & Ed enjoyed an active social life.

Lou was in the Oak Hill Volunteer Fire Department as a first responder for many years until moving to Dripping Springs, as well as involved in the Oak Hill United Methodist Church.

Lou is preceded in death by her parents, Alva & Dora Marx Rhodes; a daughter, Lisa Marie Knight; her husband, Edwin Morton Knight, III; and grandson, Casey Wayne Russell.

Lou is survived by her brother, Ronald “Buddy” Rhodes of Fredericksburg, Texas; daughters, Annette Moltz (Sam) of Montgomery, Texas; Lori Russell (Blaine) of Gravette, Arkansas; grandchildren, Danielle Fuselier (Brian); Lindsey Holly (Josh); Darren Moltz (Kaity); Lana Russell; and six great-grandchildren, Abby & Austin Fuselier, Ellie & Grayson Moltz, and Jade & Case Holly.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2025, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 21, 2025, at Oak Hill United Methodist Church, 7815 US-290 in Austin.

She will be laid to rest with Ed at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio.
