Margaret Freeman Deaderick passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2005. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on September 8, 1921 to Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Freeman. Margarets family came to Texas from Georgia early in her life. Margaret attended Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta, and was a graduate of Rice University. Margaret married John Bawden Deaderick in 1943. The couple had 57 devoted years together, until Johns death in 2001. Work took Margaret and John to Pennsylvania and Massachusetts but they returned to their beloved Texas in retirement settling first on Lake Buchanan in Burnet and later in Austin. Margaret was active in the communities where she lived, especially in the Episcopal parishes, the Highland Lakes Birding and Wildflower Society and the P.E.O. sisterhood. She held office in many P.E.O. chapters and was proud of her sixty year membership. At the time of her death, she was a member of Chapter AZ in Austin. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Suzanne Buchanan, her daughter, Susan and her husband, John. She is survived by her daughters, Peggy and Deanne and her husband Alfred Desjardin; grandson, Matthew Desjardin and his wife Ivy; and family members, Franklin Deaderick; David, Suzanne and Will Deaderick; Robin, Kelly and Bradley Burlage; and Richard and Dottie Buchanan. The family wishes to thank Tony Sosa for her many years of help and friendship, the caregivers of the Custom Care Team and the residents and staff of Westminster Manor who enriched our mothers days. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Cottey College, Scholarship Donations, 1000 West Austin, Nevada, MO 64772-2790, or a charity of your choice. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 30th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Westminster Manor. Obituary and guestbook on line at wcfish.com
