Margaret M. Kennedy was born on May 31, 1925, in Washington D.C. to Anna and "Pop", being their only child. She met Henry (Hank) Flanagan and married him in 1946, soon welcoming five children: Mike, Dan, Alan, Molly, and Joan. Due to Hank's career as a hydraulic engineer, the family moved around quite a bit, living in Connecticut, New Jersey, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi and Austin, Texas area. Marge worked as a K-mart greeter, sharing her beautiful smile with the shoppers. She also worked as a telephone operator for a bit. One of her biggest accomplishments was her volunteer work with the Jackson, Mississippi VA, clocking in more than 5000 hours over a 10-year span. She is very proud of the relationships she developed with the VA team. She and Hank went on a couple cruises, loved visiting New Orleans and Shreveport and they were able to celebrate their 50th anniversary before he passed away. Marge enjoyed reading, gambling, cross-stitch, and knitting. She also thoroughly loves animals, relishing any pet-therapy time.
Marge is survived by her 3 sons, Mike & wife Cindy Flanagan, Dan & wife Sandy Flanagan and Al & wife Vicky Flanagan as well as multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her warm smile and kindness to all.
A funeral service for Margaret will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022, 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home, 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX. 78750.
