Marian Urias Castro

Marian was born in San Marcos, Texas on August 17, 1948 to Juan and Maria Urias. The youngest of six children. Her siblings are: Jeremias (Jerry) Urias, Lea (Gloria) Bargas, John (Johnny) Urias Sr., Joe Urias, and Lovey Urias.

Marian grew up in Austin, Texas. She met the love of her life in March of 1968. It was love at first sight and Joe asked Marian to marry him on July 4, 1968. They were united in holy matrimony on October 5, 1968. They were blessed with two children: Joe John (Joseph) Castro Sr. and Nicole Marie Castro. Six grandchildren: Jennifer Marie Paz, Joe John Castro Jr., Nicolas Castro, Christian Joseph Castro, Marissa Nicole Castro and Amethyst Mariah Castro. Six great-grandchildren: Celeste and Cierra Munoz, Lea and Lily Castro, Maricella Moreno and Thomas Ariano Castro.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Maria Urias. Her siblings: Joe and Lovey Urias. Her in-laws, Jose and Rufina Castro. Her brother in law, Antonio Bargas Sr. and nephew Antonio (Tony) Bargas Jr.

Those left to celebrate Marian's life include her amazing and faithful husband, Joe B. Castro Jr., to whom she lived a fairy-tale marriage for 45 years. Her children: Joseph and Nicole Castro. Grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Marian served the Lord Jesus Christ and witnessed to many of His love and forgiveness. She served Christ passionately singing, teaching Sunday school, Vacation Bible school and directing Christmas and Easter programs.

Marian will be greatly missed by all who knew her and were impacted by her presence in their life.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 29, 2013 at Weed-Corley-Fish South Congress.
