Heaven is a little brighter today with the addition of Marineile Wolfes beautiful smile and sparkling laughter. She departed this world on August 17, 2006 as a result of congestive heart failure. Marineile began her journey on January 2, 1915, the sixth and youngest child of Joseph Pickett Williams and Mary Florence Hurt Williams. She spent the majority of her childhood in Houston and Van, Texas. It was in Houston that this consummate flirt met, and on Easter Sunday, 1936, married George Edward Wolfe. She and Ed worked side by side at their printing shop and together raised two boys, George and Neile, who reportedly walked on water. In 1981, Marineile and Ed retired to Georgetown where she developed a tight network of friends and where laughter was never in short supply. Several years after Eds death, she moved to assisted living at the Grand Court in Round Rock, and then to the Summit at Northwest Hills, where she was known as The Queen Bee and often described as the backbone of the facility. Marineile was a volunteer extraordinaire and claims to have been the president of every organization she was ever involved with Cub Scouts, Garden Club, Eastern Star, Handcrafts Unlimited, Residents Council, and numerous others. She was a devout Baptist and member of South Main Baptist Church in Houston and Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown. She loved Jesus, food, art, flowers, and games. Marineile was quick witted until the end and she delighted in the turn of a phrase. Not that anyone was keeping score, but when last checked, she was soundly beating Neile at their weekly Scrabble game, and its possible that now that shes gone somebody else will have a chance to win at the Summit bridge or dominoes table. Marineile is survived by George Wolfe and Suzanne Ste. Therese of Connecticut; Cyrus Wolfe of New York City; Neile, Jan, Emily and Jenny Wolfe of Austin; and dear longtime friends Dave and Hugette Gauger of Dallas, Justyne Banks of Georgetown, Carol Brinkmann of Leander, and Fran and Lewis Sims of Georgetown. There are thousands of other dear friends, too numerous to mention individually, but you know who you are. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at the Summit at Northwest Hills, 5715 Mesa, Austin, TX. Donations in Marineiles memory may be made to Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown or Hospice Austin. Special thanks to all of Marineiles dear friends and caretakers. She loved you very, very much.
